Testing HTML Editing

Okay, testing the new Blogger interface -- can I paste text in with formatting tags?

And can I put in embedding code from YouTube?

The following is a video which displays how I feel whenever Google announces a forced upgrade.

Okay, that didn't go well.  Sure, it looks good now, but it works differently than the old Blogger did. Much buggier.

It requires the breaking spaces and paragraph tags to be inserted manually, or at least done in the "compose" side of the picture.  Also, after pasting this into the HTML page, then going to compose and fixing the breaking spaces, I went back into HTML and found that the code for the video was gone.

I went back and pasted it in again, and then went to compose and then back to html... and they had changed the code.  I am leaving the changed code for the sake of the test, but this really sucks.

This, as Groucho says, means WAR!!

In the meantime, here's a random cat picture.  It is larger than the automatic limits on Blogger, so I want to test to see if I can edit the size....

MaudeCat isn't sure she likes the new interface.

Oh, cool!  I was pissed off for a minute because the options that used to be in the picture upload aren't there now -- but it turns out, when you click on the image, it gives you all of those options in a pop up, and one more -- ORIGINAL SIZE!  Yay!

I also tried editing the html for the picture manually, and though it will do it, it's a little screwy.  Just as with the encoding on the video, it moves around the various elements and makes them hard to find.

Just a Test Bed

I created this blog because Blogger forces us to upgrade to a new interface or new features on a regular basis.  Sometimes they break the very feature I most need to use.

This blog is specifically JUST for testing out new features before my regular blogs are forced to upgrade.  So there's nothing really interesting for readers here.

I'll be posting random cat pictures, and video links and seeing if my workflow offline needs adjusting.

First up is the fact that many people have reported that the HTML editing feature was not available, and was broken.  Since I use html mode extensively, I want to test that.  Stick around for the next post, which will have some text which was formatted before pasting into the post, and an embedded YouTube video.
